The truth: my body, mind and soul craved connectio

The truth: my body, mind and soul craved connection with nature. I knew that we are nothing without clean water, air and food, our true roots. No matter what I was doing, in the quiet moments hovered the question: 'but how does this connect me to my roots?'

Finally one day, I answered the voice inside me asking this question and enrolled on the @seed_sistas Sensory Herb Apprenticeship. Under their generous and skilled mentorship and alongside a cohort of fellow Earth lovers, the seeds of plant wisdom embedded, sprouted and grew inside me. Healing my body and soul and expanding my mind and abilities to serve others.

Working with herbs has allowed me to:
🌼Heal my body from the damage wreaked by celiac disease
🌼Found a business that allows me to work with nature
🌼Support clients to heal themselves through conditions including IBS, insomnia, anxiety, testicular cancer and depression
🌼Support myself through pregnancy and my dream home birth
🌼Avoid prescriptions of antibiotics or steroids multiple times for me and my daughter

If you'd like to start your own journey with plant medicine, I'd be delighted to help you in Heartfelt Herb Club. Monthly gatherings through the winter and spring to connect you with herbal medicine.

Each month in the club you'll:
🌼Learn about three medicinal plants that you can use at home with your family.
🌼Get 1 medicine each month to take yourself everyday and study at home.
🌼Make a remedy for your home apothecary in community just like your ancestors have done for generations.
🌼Learn how to support your body's needs using herbs.
🌼Connect with and build your own network of plant lovers.

I'm looking for 15 beautiful souls to join the club and study with me in person here in Cornwall or online if you live further afield. We ll be meeting each month for 5 months starting October 6th.

I’m working on a new, secret project and I’m looking for a specific type of person to be involved and join a small study group in Cornwall and you might be a good fit.

The Mission over this winter and spring is to:

🌼 Help 15 people learn how to use herbal medicine to improve their own and their family’s health.
🌼 See these special folks flourish in all areas of their life when they feel supported by plants and their medicine
🌼 Build resilience and good health in our community through sharing my knowledge and experience generously so that plant’s can spread their healing far and wide.

Here’s the criteria to be part of this project:

🌼You want to deepen your connection with nature
🌼You want to feel empowered to look after yourself and your family’s health using medicine from nature
🌼You want to learn how to make medicine from plants in your own kitchen
🌼You are cool, kind and curious to learn

Gathering heather flowers on dartmoor felt like an ode to the end of summer. The bees were sleepy, dozing all over her full bushes of flowers.

I gather Heather to dry for tea and make a tincture. Both these are an important part of the protocol I use for treating urinary tract infections.
I also infuse Heather in oil. Since it's an anti-inflammatory herb that helps the body eliminate metabolic waste, the oil is useful to aid healing of injuries and to soothe the inflammation and pain of arthritis and gout.

As always when I'm out foraging, the plants find me. I had a client asking me how to treat their partner's gout the day before. Then went out foraging for hawthorn berries and was surprised by swathes of purple over the hedgerows as we drove home. I just had to stop to say hello and found lots of flowering heather to harvest.

The last picture is a datura plant that I was also blessed to find in just the spot I happened to pull over...which is medicine for another client I am working with... That's another post, but thank you to the plants for calling me to you and giving just what's needed.

The seasons are turning. The hedges are full. Blackberries, elderberries rosehips and hawthorn are sharing their medicine with us.

These beautiful hawthorn berries are medicine for the heart. Regulating blood pressure, protecting our arteries, bringing our focus from our heads to our hearts. Medicine for grief. Medicine when we need focus or confidence. Medicine to help us speak our hearts truth with our feet firmly rooted in the Earth.

I will be infusing these beauties in brandy to make hawthorn tincture and drying them for blood fortifying teas.

Of course we are all unique and need our own combination of things to keep us vibing high. But one thing we all have in common is that our bodies are built to move. When you use this amazing capacity of your body to move and exercise, even in a small way, it regulates your nervous system moves your blood and brings oxygen to all your organs, boosts your digestion and cleanses the body through your sweat.
