Making magic at Glastonbury backstage @westholtsof Making magic at Glastonbury backstage @westholtsofficial . We dodged showers, gusty winds and tropical heat. Big thanks to all the West Holts crew who heard our call for help and came and helped sand, paint and hang over 100 bits of plywood. As my uncle would say, 'alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.'

Thanks a billion to all the folks who made @tropic Thanks a billion to all the folks who made @tropicalpressure a totally tropical feast for all the senses this year. It was such a joy to bring medicinal plants and all their magic into the mix.

On Sunday morning 30 of us gathered to make herbal oracle cards inspired by the plants we found growing on site and the Sensory Herbal Oracle Cards.

Happy Solstice Dear Friends... ☀️May you radi Happy Solstice Dear Friends...

☀️May you radiate peace from wherever you are.☀️

I have a favour to ask - can you send young artist Tala and her family a Solstice donation? They are in desperate need of money for whatever scarce food they can find. Lets send some sunshine their way - mutual aid can be small, can you donate the cost of your dinner tonight? The link to their fund is in the bio of Tala's big sister.. @n.y2.8
Thank you!!!🧡☀️

Put my back out last week. Here's what I did with Put my back out last week. Here's what I did with herbs to make it better:

The plant I turned to is comfrey, (Symphytum officinalis), packed full of anti inflammatory, tissue-restoring goodness. Known colloquially as knit bone for it's powerful healing of broken bones and bruised, damaged tissue.

I had a comfrey infused oil in my apothecary and massaged this into my lumbar spine at bedtime ( join us in Herbalism At Home to learn how to make your own herbal infused oils. )

I also made a comfrey poultice using fresh comfrey (pictured here). This involved whizzing up fresh leaves and flowers with a little water in a blender to make a pulp. I then lay a muslin cloth on a big strip of cling film. I spooned the pulp across the cloth then used the cling film to strap the poultice across my lower back. Lay down for half an hour with a hot water bottle on top of the poultice.
Meanwhile my daughter tattooed my back with drawings of jellyfish which definitely made all the difference to my healing!

I also added strong comfrey tea and epsom salts to my bath and soaked for 20 mins when I could.

The poultice had the most dramatic effect, the swelling around my sacrum went away... And so did much of my pain.
